Let me know if the octaves I have set are correct and the chords are right. Those are my two main concerns.

Has it been a whole month already? Man, time flies when you're having fun, eh?

I have a question in this bump: what should I do about the percussion? The only real percussion feat I've done so far is Mega Man III's Ending theme, but that was just a snare. This song has a whole section dedicated to a drum set solo, with the occasional chord here and there. Should I just leave it as silence, or try something else out? I would need some help on that.

Whoo whee...this is one upbeat song.
I'm liking the progress I see in your sheets, Levi!

Couple things I'd like to point out:
- Just a suggestion, but I'd recommend bringing the C up in octave in M. 9-12 (left hand). Since it's a really fast song and we don't want our performers to break their hands, it might be a good idea. ; )
- Same with M. 17-24 and everywhere that that passage recurs.
- You have an odd rhythmic marking in M. 55. You can just put it like this:

- This passage (M. 58) goes like this:

That might be hard or even impossible to play with one finger at this speed, so you can go ahead and mess around with some fancy finger numbers if you wish. You could have 3 fingers switch off with those notes if you like. Up to you!
- The A# in M. 60 should be a Bb.
- The D# in M. 71 is an Eb.
- Personally, I think an F# would be better than a Gb in M. 73 since it's chromatically raising and since there is an F# in the next measure which is similar and also chromatically raising.
- In M. 68, go ahead and get rid of the bracket and make the quarter note an eighth note. That will be a simpler notation.
- Where's the percussion at??
Haha, only joking. Only Ben does that kind of crazy stuff. ;)
- The second page title is slightly off alignment. You can center align that. Text tool > highlight > Text > Alignment > Center alignment.

Yo. This is a great quality arrangement! I didn't hear any wrong notes and got them pretty thoroughly checked. As for some of the chords near the end...I could be nit picky about those, but those are pretty good and I believe everything is there that should be (even though there are a couple additions).

But yeah! Great work. : )
As always, if you have any questions, you can post them here, pm me, skype me, ask an Updater or other member. Can't wait to see more!

Thanks so much, Seb! I'll do these edits on Friday, between events!

All of Seb's edits made! Now, I did hear two sets of triplets where he indicated, but I was hesitant on whether or not they were playable in my first draft, so I put a single note the first time instead. I figured they'd be playable somehow, though, when Seb posted, so I changed them.

Sorry for the wait! I'll see if I can work on Flash in the Dark now!

Oh man, I remember hearing this theme way too much looking for that golden keychain in that one level in World 5 when it was actually at the very beginning...

This is a great sheet! I didn't hear any wrong notes or chords (though as Seb said, those last chords might have a few extra notes, but they still sound fine and I can't be bothered to check, haha), though I did take a little bit of time to mess around with the formatting:

Formatting Edit Folder

I didn't alter too much, but I changed the measure distribution so that the first system has four measures and the pickup measure. As a result, the rest of the sheet is organized into four-bar phrases accurately represented by each system (i.e. hypermeter). I also decreased the overall size to fit the sheet onto four pages, since I was a little bothered by the fact that the first page had so much white space on the bottom and that the last page was so cramped. (The last page is still a little cramped with the slurs and the 8va's, so feel free to move those around a bit more if you want.)

As for the percussion from m77-92, I think it's fine as is. You could certainly try to include a repeating pattern of the tonic in a low octave to simulate the percussion, but it's not necessary (and you'd have to find another way to space the measures since 8 measures wouldn't fit in those systems anymore).

One last small thing I did was change the order of the phrases in the tempo expression to include the description first, followed by the metronome marking, and then finally the swing. Not a big deal, but I usually see it written out like this, so I figured it would be best to keep things consistent.

Overall, though, there's not really much that needs changing. It looks pretty good to go already. Nice work!

EDIT: Oh, one more thing. It might be clearer to separate the voices in m66 into two different layers, with the lower three notes of the chord in Layer 2. It's just that I generally don't see the use of one-note ties from a chord in a single layer, so personally I would've done it as I described. It might come out messier and harder to read, but I think it's something you should at least experiment with.

Thanks for the help, msf! I really appreciate it! (By the way, those tied notes were to lengthen the notes before the glissandos, but that's not too important, is it?)

Files updated again.

A minor quibble, but your pickup measure is included in the measure numbers

How might I change that? It's been irritating me.

1: make it a true pickup measure
2: Bring up measure properties (as if you were to change the barlines) and uncheck "count in measure numbers" or whatever it is.

Sebastian

I'm not able to open the Finale musx/mus, but according to the PDF it is a true pickup measure. Pickups don't count towards the measure number.

LeviR.star

I think Seb may be right. Oh, and by the way, I updated the .mus and .musx because they weren't set to Piano Bright.
