Quote from: Static on July 02, 2016, 10:47:57 PMPlease note that due to school, band, and other activities, I may not be arranging on a regular basis.

We all know the struggle, Static. No more school for me, it's real life that's in my way now :'(

Hi there, fellow VGM enthusiasts! Please note that not all of these are polished up, because some of them are pretty old. As I continue to add brand new sheets, from time to time I will touch-up existing ones with new ideas I've picked up (of course, you know this cycle will probably never end). But feel free to check out what I've got, and if you find any broken links, let me know!

Teal: A PA-exclusive arrangement. May or may not be very new, but is suitable enough for performing.
Lime Green: In submissions. You can any bring feedback to its submission topic, where it is being prepared.
Orange: In projects for a special update. Like the above case, you may offer suggestions for it in the project thread.
Gold: On the main site. Any changes made to it (i.e. formatting fixes) will be up to the updaters and I.
Purple: Defunct sheet. Someone else's version has been accepted to the site since its upload here, so chances are I won't be touching it again.

I hope I have this song mostly polished up. These are the only issues I see right now:

1. The last measure is stretched over as one bar, and I don't know how to even it out.
2. The copyright text is dangerously close to the bar line, but it hasn't changed places from the template.
3. The repeat sign isn't working, due to my software version; this is minor, though.
4. The suggestion text -- does it need relocation/font adjustment?

Thank you all in advance.  :)

Great arrangement, and great job with your formatting! Good formatting gives me more time to look at other possibilities for improving an arrangement! ^^

-It looks like you don't have any dynamic marking indication. Even though the dynamics are relative in these old game tunes, we require at least an opening dynamic for piano arrangements hosted on the site.

-These are the only incorrect pitches: M9, 13, 21, & 17, LH: the B should be a C above that.

-In measure 9 (and everywhere else this occurs) the RH has the rhythm eighth note-quarter rest-eighth note. While there is nothing wrong with having this rhythm, I've learned in my own experience that breaking the quarter rest into two eighth rests and beaming the two notes together can sometimes make it easier to put that second note in the right place for the player.

-As for the form, I would simplify it with repeats so that it A) makes it easier to see what's going on from a larger perspective, and B) to conserve space that we'll need for explaining the LH variations to come. What I suggest is having measures 1-4 repeat (deleting the written out repeat that is 5-8), then having measures 9-16 repeat (also deleting 17-end, which is the same material as 9-16). After this, I would add a "D.C. last X" at the end of measure 16 to signify a repeat of the entire piece.

As for the LH variations, I would write them out like this: [MUS]

(due to some wizardry, the playback works)

Thanks for the help! Now, should the version you gave to me go to the submission forums? Or do I need to edit it?

"Oh! Daisy" is actually not recognized as the transformation from a Daisy clone to an enemy; it's the official name given to Daisy's theme here on the Super Mario Land Original Soundtrack track listing: Mario Wiki

Here's the song on YouTube.

Several questions on my arrangement...

1. Should the dynamic marking be on both clefs?
2. I need someone to fool around with the 8va markings for me. Y'know, because of my, incapability at the moment.
3. Is the time signature correct? I was originally going to go with a 4/4 time signature, but changed my mind.

My current MUS file for the sheet is in the first post of this topic.

Thanks to whomever help me correct this.

Hey. That's a lot of stuff you've posted, haha.

Scattered feedback incoming.

Most of the time, you'll just need one dynamic marking between the staves, unless the two hands are meant to be played at drastically different volumes.

2/4 or 4/4 for this one seems fine. Actually I included this track in my sheet for the ending sequence. That's how I wrote it out, but it's fine to write it in 2/4.

About the 8vas, there's a couple ways you can go about it. Having an 8va above each staff works. Here's what that would look like.

Quick look at another sheet - your NSMB World 4. Rhythm groupings. Just because the note durations sound right doesn't mean they're written out correctly. Rewrite what you have so that the beginning of each beat is visible - that would mean either breaking up a note into two tied notes at the fall of the downbeat, or, in this case as I suspect, shortening the note duration instead of using a staccato so that the note would end on the downbeat. It helps the reader follow along with the beat and makes the sheet look cleaner overall. Remember that note duration and staccato are two different things and are not interchangeable.

Shoot, I didn't notice you already made one! I assumed "Ending" meant the credits theme, and that Daisy's theme wasn't included. I can take this down, if you want.

Thanks for the feedback! I wasn't sure what to do about that, but now I think I have a general idea.

Shall we play Breakout, gorge ourselves with sweets, or play soccer with Squishy?

Here's Kirby's Pinball Land's Bonus Game theme: [MUS]

1. The rhythm of the bass line notes in the second half of each measure (excluding the first) are sections I'm unsure of.
2. How's the tempo going?
3. Do I need more/less staccatos?

Thank you in advance for the feedback, which I will respond to as soon as I can.

Rhythm grouping is fine in this one. See how you can find a note or rest falling on every downbeat.

However you need to fix rhythm groupings in your newest sheet. Show all four beats. For the LH you'd need to break up the eighth note C after the slur into two tied sixteenths, or a sixteenth and a sixteenth rest. (not comparing against the original right now, just looking). Similar problem with the right hand, needs to show beat 4.
