I thought it meant one who knows a lot of uncommon words and uses them a lot. Like if I said "The rambunctious rabble of uxorious lesbiotic women showed great tendency towards divisive discourse," I would consider myself not only pretentious but also loquacious. I think Charles Dickens, in today's context, qualifies for loquacious.

That's a possibility. I'm just going based upon what my calendar says (which is made by the Merriam-Webster Dictionary people).
On that note,
1/10/16 Jehu (n.)- the driver of a coach or cab

A short and sweet definition, but not a word that would be used immensely.

Jehu? Sounds almost like it developed from a stereotype that most cab drivers were Jewish. Or...wasn't there some chariot driver in the Bible named Jehu?

I'm not sure if he was a chariot driver, but I know there was a man named Jehu in the Bible.

After looking into it, Jehu was the chariot driver for the corrupt king of Israel, Ahab. After revolting, Jehu made himself king. Apparently, he was quite the reckless and speedy driver.

1/11/16 Chapfallen (adj.)- 1. having the lower jaw hanging loosely (a real jaw dropper, that is!)  2. cast down in spirit: depressed
