Here's a Drive link to a .musx of it: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B1JkqiaoKnAsZXc0MDQ3VXBpc1k https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1JkqiaoKnAsZXc0MDQ3VXBpc1k/view?usp=sharing
Let me know if you need anything else.

Ok so I wanted to try to arrange something that I couldn't find. I'm not very good and drought seemed kinda easy. Here's a link to the song if you want: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WTUCwCOjGIo. I'm pretty happy with what I've done considering me, but there are just some things that I can't work out. I'd submit it but it's not good enough yet.

I should probably say also that I play trumpet (I've been getting the .mus files and transposing them in Finale) so I don't know about like, left hand, sustain pedals, all of that. I just did the notes, some articulation; if you know piano which I feel like a lot of you do (I'm going to learn soon) I'd appreciate if you could help me with that.

    1. Formatting the information. I know that I have to bold the title and make some text bold and some not and some 12 pt and some 10pt... I'm somewhat new to Finale so I don't know how to go about changing these things. I also just don't know who composed it and what copyright year.
    2. The notes could be off a little. I don't know chords, if there are any, what octave the bottom staff should be, should there be a 15mb? I don't know that. Some of the triplets might also be better suited as better notes.
    3. Measure 25 onward. Kinda with #2 but its extra ehh. I hear a difference between the prior rhythm and this. I slowed it down on YouTube and I believe I heard a reverb almost. At full speed knowing this I heard it a little bit. Either way I couldn't get what I wanted out of it.
    4. Key signature. I have no idea. I just wrote it in a regular key and did accidentals when I saw fit and now when I try to add a key signature it just ruins everything. I don't even know what key it would be.
    5. Might fit on only 2 pages. The Dragonspiral Tower arrangement is a little smaller than everything else. I have no idea how to do that.
    6. There are probably other things. I kinda just suck at this  :-\

I'm not quite sure how this would work out but, If I submit this with your edit we could make the arranged text like: "Arranged by Guy_92 (Edit by XXX)". I appreciate if you can do anything to help!

1) ok first things first formatting. Select the T in the simple entry pad and then you should be able to select bits of text to change their formatting. Copyright year is 2002, I'll go look up composer and get back to you

edit: composer is Go Ichinose
Copyright: Nintendo/Pokémon Co./GAMEFREAK/Creatures Inc. © 2002
2) The notes are definitely D and E. The sixteenths sound find on a cursory hearing too. However, your left hand starts out too low. It's fine once it hits m. 5 but it should be an octave higher before that. It's not moving up a whole octave from the low D to the E, just a whole step. This applies for all iterations of it.
There aren't any chords in the left hand.
3) What I'm hearing, with two earphones in and stereo sound, is an antiphonal thing going back and forth between the ears but still keeping the same rhythm as what came before.
4) No accidentals might be best. The piece uses the D and E major chords, but that's not really indicative of a key.

It's for Finale is it not? Why are you talking about Internet Explorer? I'm using Chrome. I'm very confused

I'm not quite understanding everything you're saying.

1) The T just lets me make a text box. I can use the selection tool and edit the text, but I can only edit what the text says. Not the size or bold etc.
2) Ok so: Where,
what's this cursory hearing you speak of,
I don't play piano so I'm not sure what the left hand starting low means (well I do but, in piano world),
what about hitting m,
do you mean shouldn't?
3) Ok, any way to do mark something like that? It does sound strange.
4) I thought you said no chords in 2. I'm pretty sure I'll need accidentals eiter way. The F's are sharp and G's, but not always the C's. Plus what about mesures 6/7 with the half steps (maybe they should be grace notes?).

Are you using a Mac or a PC? If it's a Mac, once you select the T, then one of the options along the top bar should change to "Text" and you should be able to use that to adjust the size, font, style, etc. If PC, try this.

Quote2) Ok so: Where,

It's not a thing - it was basically me saying "upon listening it to the first time, it sounded fine to me".

QuoteI don't play piano so I'm not sure what the left hand starting low means (well I do but, in piano world),

Your opening D in the left hand is one octave too low. It should be the D that is under the first ledger line below the clef.

Quotewhat about hitting m,

"m. 5" is an abbreviation for "measure 5". Basically, the E in measure 5 (and every E that occurs thereafter) is the correct pitch, but the D's are too low, and need to be up an octave.

Quote3) Ok, any way to do mark something like that? It does sound strange.

I don't know the best way to do this. Ben or Latios might be able to help.

Quote4) I thought you said no chords in 2.

I said there aren't any chords in the left hand. The right hand is playing the notes B, E, and G# (an E major chord), which moves to A, D, and F# (a D major chord). But really, all I'm saying is that the notes don't all line up with a certain key. When that happens, keeping the key signature with no accidentals is probably best.

QuotePlus what about mesures 6/7 with the half steps (maybe they should be grace notes?).

What about them? Not all accidentals need to be notated in a key signature. What you have is fine, though.

If you mean programming finale to play out each ear individually, there is a way to set a Pan value which would affect that. The only way I can imagine doing it for the one part alone tho is to have a hidden staff on the other ear play it. It would take a lot of work and really isn't necessary.

The only way to notate some kind of sound from different sides in piano solo music is to say "Play this on the other piano you have beside you".

This is an odd request so in reality I probably am answering the wrong question.
"Today's goal strongly involves not dying. Because nobody likes to wake up dead."

2 things I noticed with this:

The dissonant quarter tones. Don't know if you can do anything about it.

I think the last rhythm, m.25, would be better as triplet 8th notes with grace notes.

Also about fitting this on 2 pages. You can take my Template, it got great formatting (better spaced margins and reduced page size). If you use it you'll easily be able to make it fit on 2 pages.
