There's nothing wrong with using either meter, time signatures are not limited to certain ensembles or instruments. I did that because I wanted it to look more like a waltz.

I think I get it now. If we did the dashed barlines, it would lose the feel of it being a waltz, since it really is two measures, not 1 measure divided into 2 parts. If you wrote a waltz in 6/8 though, then maybe... 3+2/8 might have sway? but I like it this way. Stellar arrangement, again.
