I can't remember how long it was, but my longest road trip was either...

Rhode Island --> Texas

Or

Rhode Island --> South Dakota

Maelstrom

PA to the Florida keys. About 18 hours, and in one shot, both ways.

BrainyLucario

About 16 hours from Western Kentucky to Washington D. C.

How long was your longest road trip?
About four or five hours from here to Las Vegas, often travelling on some really, really desolate roads at night.

Rhode island to Texas is the longest out of any of these I think
Of course it depends on where in Texas to be certain but it's likely

Just looked up both trips on Google Maps. RI --> SD was the longer one.

5 hours to the Smoky Mountains (my parents don't like to get out much in terms of travelling, they like to stay nearby for all the yard sales & flea markets)

Maybe 3-4 feet. I don't go flying when I trip on roads, I usually recover.

Yeah; it was pretty interesting and very weird to see the moon overlapping the sun like that.

I was in the path of totality!

Best part was seeing some friends that I hadn't been able to in a while

I've never heard of that movie before. Everyone's been talking about it, but I have no clue since I've never seen or heard of a trailer for it.

It's called the umbra! You should know this, Mr. Word of the Day!

As for the question, I don't appreciate views like I used to. I watched because my aunt wanted to and I like to humor my family. I was stuck in the penumbra, anyway. But that is better than not seeing it at all, I guess.

I watched the eclipse today. Or, at least I tried.

The only way I could tell the eclipse was occurring at my place was that the sky was a darker blue than expected (but it was still bright daylight in my home city in Canada). I tried looking in the sun and it was still too bright to look at. I thought I saw the outline of the moon in there, but maybe that was just me.

I checked the sky in the afternoon and it was covered with white clouds.

(Apparently I'm in the 70% Dark Partial Eclipse band. 70% Dark may as well be 10% Dark from my POV.)
