Never heard the song before so I can't speak to accuracy, but I definitely enjoyed it. Nice job! Also A+ formatting.

Really? Even I haven't played Mother and I could recognize this tune from Super Smash Bros (the Onett stage).

Someone beat Bespinben to making PMD music?! GASP!

I. LOVE. YOU. SO. MUCH. This is great!

I was hoping someone would do the NES version! (Your post says SNES)
Some of the last 3 eighth notes on some measures, for example, 6 and 8, aren't part of the melody. It would have more effect if it was quieter than the melody.

Mother is for the Famicom, not the SNES. EarthBound is on the SNES, and Bein' Friends is not present in that game.

I used to get this song stuck in my head all the time after playing Melee/Brawl. Great job.

Also, Dropbox can work a little better. Go to the file on your computer, right-click it, go to Dropbox, and then "Copy public link". If you use that, then the file automatically downloads without going to a new page.
You know you've been playing too much Dragon Quest when you're afraid your Hershey's Kisses are going to flee.

@spitllama

Thanks, but shadoninja gets the credit for the formatting (I got the sheet from him.)

@Taser9090

I'll see what I can do. My version of finale can't specifically make one voice quieter, but I'll see how it sounds.

EDIT:

It sounds horrible... so I can't really do anything else to fix it. Putting it in the left hand would require a clef change, something I can't do.  :(

@blueflower999

Thanks, now I need to find the abbreviation for that...

@Zunawe

I'll try it!

EDIT:

Err, I don't see anything that says "copy public link."

Of course!

Edit: Added "Edited by Don Valentino" to Tower Tennis Terror. Now I need to get Olimar's permission to do the same with Battle 2.

Jompa

I'm not gonna critique very thoroughly, mainly because I don't even know the song - I just went a bit detailed into certain areas, like the start and the ending, and the key signature changes:

Ok, well - about those first measures:
Regardless of how; you somehow have to make it so that those chords will be played more dramatically.
If you wanna make it super-dramatic (and this is one of the Jompa-methods), you could instead of a G#dim do a E7b9(b13). The chord in that measure is actually an E7b9(b13), because that is more or less an universal law of songs in minor, however - the chord that is played in the song is very reduced. Only the G# B and the D are played. Now, it is up to you - and for the sake of accuracy you probably shouldn't write the full chord (E G# B D F C), but I would probably do it, just for the fun of it:P
Quote from: DonValentino on May 24, 2013, 01:32:56 PMAlso, removed the uppermost note of the chords of the left hand. I don't really know where you took that from.
I can see Don wouldn't like this.

Yeah, so that method above, you probably shouldn't go for. But something that you almost have to do, is to assign articulations!! Those chords have to be more dramatic! They sound kinda boring now. If you do this, the start will be awesome!!

Good job on the key signatures!

And now over to wrong notes:

I don't really know the song, so I don't have much to say about the middle part, but at the end I reacted to some stuff:
At measure 40 - the chord in that measure is Bbmaj9, not Gm. This is dominant tritone substitution, extremely normal in songs in minor. (It does this in the last measure too, but then it is reduced to only a Bb being played over A in the bass)
At measure 41 - the chord is Am - even the note in the bass is A.
An in measure 42 - the note in the bass is a G#, not E. The chord you have places, E7b9(b13), is right, but it's just the bass note.

Quote from: FireArrow on May 24, 2013, 02:00:11 PMWoah, thanks! I'm gonna try to avoid songs with annoying diminished and seventh chords for awhile...
And that's not the right attitude! Arranging is most fun when you challenge yourself - that's how to improve as well! :)

Theory terms + chords I don't know = confused FireArrow.

Updated the links with your suggestions, is this what you meant? The chords in the begging still are a bit boring with the accents, aren't they supposed to be up an octave as well? I'm not sure.

Thanks! The ending sounds really good now!
