Avatar limit?

Okay so I'm trying to change my avatar to a gif. I can put some gifs and they'll move. But if I put one that's slightly more memory it doesn't work for me.
HELP

Are you uploading it to the site or linking it from an image hosting service. I've known the avatar hosting on here hasn't always been great.

No, it's the one I just changed, I uploaded it from a file in my computer. I have no idea why it isn't working. One of you try it, and see if it works for you.

First upload it to a site (I'd recommend photobucket). Then when choosing your avatar, pick "specify by url" and enter the picture's url.
