Isn't Warband an expansion?

Nope, or, well, by some definition it is. I prefer to think of it as a sequel, where all the content in the predecessor has been carried over. It's a standalone game, but most of the units, locations, items, mechanics and whatnot from the first M&B is in Warband as well. Plus a little more. It doesn't exactly ease the confusion that the names for the games are virtually identical, with Warband only being a sub-title.

Long story short, get Warband, don't bother with buying plain M&B

And I have met only one person who has Tepig, too. Oshawott seems to be the most popular choice, and I have met a couple others with Snivy.
