Quote from: Latios212 on December 24, 2017, 12:51:23 PMBe sure to generate the .mid and .pdf files off of the .mus file, and replace them in the submission as well.

If you're having trouble, just let us know and we can do that for you this one.

Yeah, Notepad doesn't let one export as a PDF file. I'll need somebody else to do that for me. I did save the MIDI file off the MUS file, though.

Quote from: Maelstrom on December 24, 2017, 08:43:08 AMGreat. Just update the files and then I'll have another updater glance at it
You can do that by hitting the NSM panel button in the top bar and editing your submission.

Should be done now.

Quote from: Maelstrom on December 23, 2017, 07:56:21 AMI changed the submission info. After you change the game title in the sheet to La-Mulana (2005) and update the files, we'll be nearly done here.

Thanks for correcting my blunder. This should be it: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1fe_EwN91y85LyA6EU_ZCeHQ1O0AuPcT7

Here's the updated file, just changed the title from "Title" to "La-Mulana" and "FungalOmen" to "FugalOmen": https://drive.google.com/open?id=12Xmmzs0KICe51UeE99FY2nNyTcAv8VAF

Quote from: Maelstrom on December 22, 2017, 12:07:21 PMA few questions regarding the song:
Where did you get the name? The only name I can find is "La-Mulana" from La-Mulana
Do you have a way we can differentiate this from a sheet from the remake? Different title or something?
Was the original La-Mulana multiplatform?

I called it "Title" because it's the music that plays on the title screen. You're right, the track is actually called "La-Mulana", but I thought it would be a bit confusing if I said, "Hey, here's the track 'La-Mulana' from the game 'La-Mulana'". I should have also called it "La-Mulana (2005)" as well, as the orignal game is not multiplatform.

I made a few changes:
changed diminuendo to a fade out
Put LH an octave higher with instructions to play an octave lower
Changed C time sig to 4/4

Overall, you did a great job on this. I hope you stick around and we see more from you

Thanks for the comment and improvements. I really appreciate it. My username, however, is "Fugal" (fyoo-guhl), not "Fungal". Don't worry about it, it got a chuckle out of me.

I need to clarify some things:
- This is an arrangement of the theme from the original freeware 2005 version, not the 2012 remake.
- I am using Finale Notepad, so the .mus file is a bit of a mess due to lack of a Staff Tool. I also could not export the .mus file as a PDF, so I re-created the score in LilyPond and used its generated PDF. I apologize for the inconvenience. The PDF file is generally how I want the .mus file to be formatted. Feel free to open the .mus file in a fuller version of Finale and format it as well as make improvements, if you have a fuller version.
- Here is what the original theme sounds like: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1ZVqSy12SUWiQu90mAxdUuVwwhEruGJO8

Feedback / Which cloud storages can I use with this site?
November 25, 2017, 02:03:35 AM
Hi, so I haven't been on the forums for a while. That's because the last time I tried to share a score I was told not to use Mediafire, and between a combination of frustration with restrictions and lack of understanding as to why Mediafire could not be used, I gave up. Now I've decided to ask, which cloud storages are allowed on this site? I remember DropBox can be used, and I think either OneDrive or Google Drive can be used too, but can't remember which one and don't know if any others can be used.

Hmm, quite a lot of restrictions. Finale-only and now no Mediafire?

Looks like I'll have to give up arranging.

Hi,

I've made arrangements in LilyPond of "Mr. Explorer" (Solo Piano) and "Giant's Rage" (Piano Four Hands) from the game "La-Mulana". Anyone willing to make Finale .MUS files out of them? Here are the links to the .PDF files:

Feedback / Question regarding scorewriters
September 07, 2017, 01:24:36 AM
Hi, I want to ask a question.

Is it okay for me to submit my scores in a different scorewriter than Finale, and then have somebody else copy the score to Finale to submit to the site?

I ask this because Finale Notepad lacks a Staff Tool, resulting in notes clashing with staffs and making scores unreadable. I understand this site only allows scores on the main site to be in Finale—though I personally think it would be a lot more convenient if it would accept scores from other scorewriters too—which is why I ask this question.

Request / [MUL] La-Mulana - Multiple Songs
September 05, 2017, 09:21:32 AM
Hi,

Recently I tried to arrange three tracks from the game La-Mulana multiple times, but wasn't happy with the results due to lack of compositional skills, as well as the fact that Finale Notepad lacks features like staff position which resulted in notes clashing with staffs. I'm sure those with the full version of Finale and better skills than I can do a much more satisfactory job.

Here are the tracks:

La-Mulana i.e. Title Theme: http://www.mediafire.com/file/bbrjfohfbmzaebl/LA-MULANA.mp3
Mr. Explorer i.e. Surface Theme: http://www.mediafire.com/file/ql8a8x2w7k8ltjx/Mr._Explorer_%28SSCC%29.mp3
Giant's Rage i.e. Sakit's Theme http://www.mediafire.com/file/ij8lxsvk93d0m22/Giant%27s_Rage_%28SSCC%29.mp3

Thanks for your time.

Quote from: Trasdegi on August 30, 2017, 10:22:10 AMIf you want to submit it, you can use the nsm panel button (near the pm button) and the bot will open a new thread

Will people be able to provide feedback before it gets submitted to the site? It would be helpful.

Hi,

I decided to arrange the theme when you fight Sakit in the game La-Mulana (for some reason the Submissions thread doesn't have a New Thread post so I decided to post it here). It's one of my favourite tracks in the game, and I enjoyed the game in spite of the fact that I died. And died. And died.

I was able to arrange the theme for solo piano by downloading the freeware 2005 version of the game and opening its midi file for the theme in Aria Maestosa. I'm not exactly happy with my arrangement, though; what with the original theme having so many chords and only having so many fingers to play the piano with, I had to take out detail so it could be playable. Quite a few notes in the midi file are the same pitch as other notes being played at the same time, for example. Also, Finale Notepad lacks a Staff Tool, so a few notes clash with staffs. I hope you understand.

Still, any information on how the arrangement could be better would be welcome.
