Request / Re: "Fulfilling the Requests" Project

No no, you've done a great job with this! The site was more of an excuse to flex some programming muscles anyway. Obviously the site would be more capable given some work, but it being detached completely from the forum is a horribly distracting system for everyone concerned. This system looks like it has potential :)

Sorry 'bout dp, but just saw the new organisation of the requests board. Really not much point to the site anymore is there? xD

ohai

I've got a week or two of free time, so let me know what you guys want with this. I can do some updates to improve it and go through and add the newer requests if you want. Might take a request or two as well.

Feel free to either list improvement to the site or suggest another way to deal with it. Persevere or no?

Site update:

  • The box at the right now displays login by default (as opposed to register), and register has been moved to a separate page.
  • Comments on a request now pay attention to line breaks. (woot enter key works now)

Sorry about the inactivity, I should be able to make some more improvements over the next week hopefully!

Oh, yay! Thanks for updating it all! It's backed up. Sorry, it goes down sometimes. Hosting is fairly crappy.

Thanks for the comment! Added the dotted note. Those 'missing' octaves are deliberate and are supposed to eliminate crashes with the left hand. That said, they do look clumsy! Any suggestions?

I'll upload the fixed version soon. :)

Wow Shado, talk about making it easy for the adder! xD I've given you temporary 'Request Manager' status, so you can either add them yourself or continue what you're doing. Thanks for the help, everyone. :)

Arrighty, thanks spit!

And sure Shado, but I'm not sure how you and spitllama will be able to keep score of who's added what. If you can work something out, sure, I'll promote you. :)

Yessir. My first unread request is - "Battle! Champion" Pokemon Black and White [NDS] - which is on page 7 if your topics-per-page setting is default, so I guess that topic and after that would not have been added. (Any old, added requests that have had replies to them I'm unaware of, so I guess just add them all and delete the irrelevant one if that happens.)

So, uh... who wants another mammoth task? :P I guess me doing it would be less hassle, but if there's any volunteers I can spend more time working on the site itself (which seems to break quite regularly).

Quote from: Shadoninja on January 24, 2012, 04:12:52 PMIs there any way that the register and log in forms could be separated?

Sure! I've been meaning to do it anyway for other reasons, so I'll get to it within the next few days.

Quote from: spitllama on January 24, 2012, 04:15:41 PMAlso WiiMan I'm trying to delete a request that was put in twice "Mega Man Battle Network 2- Title" and the screen goes all wonky.. you'll see what I mean.

Trippy! Fixed and request deleted. (that's two major bugs now that've occurred because I left an apostrophe out xD)

Quote from: spitllama on January 24, 2012, 04:15:41 PMOh and MM can't register for some reason :P

Stupid registering bug fixed, please try again and let me know. (three bugs, I gotta watch my apostrophes)

Whoa, thanks for all that. That's... a lot more than I expected. xD

Yes, I back up the database fairly regularly. No need to worry. I backed it up again now, just for you.  ;)

True. Usability is usually good.
