There's weight to every beat.
Did you think about this?

Last thing about the notes: the chord in the first measure of the last system should have its Bb on top; I'd suggest inverting the C# down. I'd also reconsider the G in the left hand since the low tritone sounds muddy (although if that's the effect you're trying to achieve here, sure.)

Else looks fine. Just a few small things that I can update for you: missing measure numbers, footer too small, fermata missing on LH of last measure, and the beginning of the slur in the second to last measure should be lower so as not to touch the whole note C#.

No worries. However, there are double barlines at the beginning of every system now... I'll just fix it for you haha

It's a dangerous job, you never know when a stray piano might come flying out of nowhere :3

Quote from: Libera on September 26, 2018, 01:27:30 AMNice new avatar!

Bit of a late response to you earlier post, but umm ... did lil' Latios have a rough night?

You cannot view this attachment.
Thanks! And uh... Flying around Hoenn all night to the tune of Soaring Illusions can be exhausting :P

I also suggest leaving it in the middle as well unless there's something blocking it.

Sebastian:

Spin Trade
- Would suggest making the first three notes staccatissimo or something to make them even more marked!
- You could move the dynamic in m. 2 down a bit.
- The figure in m. 7 beat 3 is actually a bend up from F. But what you wrote in seems like a fine substitute for that.
- Only wrong notes - m. 9 beat 1.5 should be the dyad chromatically neighboring below, that is to say Eb-Ab, and beat 3.5 should also be a fourth (F instead of Gb).

Nice work!

Hehe I try :P APPROVED!

Definitely a distinction between an A and B section there, but I tend to reserve double barlines for longer songs with more sections, or more jarring contrasts between sections. I getcha, but I don't feel like it adds much here. For ledger lines, it doesn't get terribly high so yeah save the last few measures it seems fine. Thanks for looking!

After a bit of discussion with Libera we decided to fill in the parallel fifths with a few more notes. Updated again!

Bars 2 and 4: Sounds good to me! I'll change that.

Bar 6: While it's great in the original I'm not so crazy about its effect on the piano - the layer jumps above the melody which I'm generally not too crazy about and also makes it more difficult to move down to reach the notes in the following measure. I'd like to keep this as is :P

Last bar: I'm not too crazy about how the intervals constantly change in what you wrote out... I hear the part, but I personally think the parallel fifths sound fine (besides that just being verbatim from the original without any octave transposition). Would prefer to keep this as well :P

Thanks for looking! I've updated the files.

Quote from: Latios212 on July 18, 2018, 07:28:05 PMPsst, fingerz, if you're away, I can make changes for you on your subs
Updated the key signature and footer. Nothing else wrong as far as I can tell.

re: Sebastian's comments, C naturals are included with the key now and I left the courtesy B naturals out since I didn't feel they were totally necessary, but open to hear more about if if you feel so strongly.

Approved.

Quote from: Brassman388 on September 26, 2018, 08:35:06 PMEeeeeeeeeeeh, I don't like those two hairpins are placed, but that could just be me.

Any possible solutions???
I'm assuming you mean the first two, in m. 3 and 24? For m. 3 I can move it between the staves but for m. 24 that was the solution I came up with (see above posts).

The D# is fine.

The beaming, however, is not fine and will need to be changed. This submission will be deleted soon unless you update it.

Hmm.... I really wouldn't say combining layers everywhere is a good idea. In particular, I think the melody should be separated from any rhythmically independent layers, particularly in measures 2 and 27 (contrary to what Libera said... oops haha)

I have a lot more to say about this sheet about layer management in other places unrelated to the above, but am a bit too busy right now to. I can elaborate or go over with this you in more depth at a later time.

I have a new (and finally original) avatar! A good friend of mine drew it for me~

Ooh nice. A more free-form look. Only concern is that it seems harder to count like this, but that might even be a good thing given the nature of this song.

Before I approve. just checking do the wider crescendos imply more pronounced changes in volume? It also seems kinda funny you only have dynamics in the first and last systems and nowhere in the middle. But I'm okay with that.
