Continuing on in our new style of special updates, we will once against begin the voting procedure. Just like last time, any user can suggest ONE theme by posting in this thread. There are only 2 restrictions:
- The theme cannot be limited to a single game/series or musical style
- No duplicates of previous themes (food/cooking)

Anything else is fair game. Other suggestions from the last thread that didn't get voted in were things like aquatic themes, boss battles, and "music about music." The best suggestions are those that are applicable to as many types of video games and musical styles as possible. Creative interpretations of the theme are fine.

Nominations will be open for approximately one week from the time of this post, but nominations are preferred to be posted sooner rather than later. We may be experimenting with tweaking the deadlines, but for now, this will be followed by a week of voting, two weeks of arranging, and two more weeks of reviewing. If you want to see how the last two steps work, check out the previous thread.

I really should be studying for my Ochem test now, but someone posted a Rachmaninoff prelude on Daj's discord server and I remembered that I always enjoyed this music. Then I remembered why I don't listen to more: There's so much of it that it's overwhelming and I have no clue where to start. I'm sure there's enough music nerds here to help me figure out where I can start and what I'd like. I just want to say I hate baroque and if you suggest that I'm ignoring everything else you say. Orchestral stuff is cool in addition to piano music.
So yeah, I'm can't give much more information because, quite frankly, I'm kinda clueless in this aspect, aside from a few pieces I've heard here and there, and watching Legend of the Galactic Heroes which has all the classical music from Dvorak to Mahler to Wagner.

[Arrangers]

Last year, around this time, I challenged myself to create 12 arrangements for Christmas, and other people joined in. This year, I'm putting out an early announcement and an invitation to all to try this for themselves. The goal is simple:
-To post an arrangement each day from December 14th up until December 25th for the 12 arrangements of Christmas. If you prefer to celebrate another holiday, that's fine too, but I'm not sure which dates you'd use.
However, there are two optional challenge rules to get you to arrange stuff you might not normally think about:
1. No more than one arrangement from a single game
2. No more than two arrangements from a single franchise, by its largest definition. For example, "Mario" would include anything that would go on the Mario section of the site, including, but not limited to, Yoshi, Wario, Mario Kart, and Paper Mario.
It's also encouraged that you don't post any arrangements until then, so you can focus on making your arrangements the best they can be.

There is no penalty for dropping out nor any reward for completing it. It's simply a way to challenge yourself to arrange things you might not otherwise do. It's also a great time to finish up your WIPs that have been sitting around for ages.
