Quote from: Ruto on June 08, 2016, 06:14:03 PMI've been annoyed more easily since I got back, but I just noticed how many calls I get from work when I'm not at work. It's mostly assistance with technical issues, but seriously...I don't get paid for that and this side job barely pays anything as it is -.-

Oh yes, I can most definitely relate. I keep getting calls & e-mails asking me about trivial matters, and more often than not it's due to a technical issue on their part which I obviously can't do much about. *shrugs* I'm usually quite patient so don't mind it too much, but I'm sure those with a shorter fuse would probably not like being contacted so many times during the week.

QuoteI'm not even 18 and I feel old.

Please don't make those of us in our 20s cry from all of your comments, haha. If this is an age that's considered to be "old" then that will just leave me utterly confused. :o

Aah! I've only now noticed this thread - I would love to join in! I think two tracks will be enough for me at this point (let's not get too carried away, shall we Onion?) - I'd like to pick up "World 3: Treat Land" and "Green Greens", if that's okay.

Quote from: Bloop on June 07, 2016, 11:02:12 AMI have a feeling this was asked before somewhere.
I know, right? What a strange sense of déjà-vu.

I usually pick Disney favourites depending on the music just as much as the storyline. I chose Aladdin and The Hunchback of Notre Dame previously (in the other thread), but I think I'll add Mulan to the list as well. (We can pick our Top 3, right?)

Lol, maybe picking a movie we most dislike would be an easier question for all of us?

I decided to go with 6/8 how you suggested initially, as I felt it does fit the original track more (and phrases are often-times 4 bars long anyway). I also added a (eighth = eighth) tempo marking where the time signature changes, I think that way it's more clear as at what speed that section should be played.

Erm, I think that's everything I wanted to mention... Does anything else need fixing?

Sounds like a recipe for disaster a much better arrangement. :) I'll ponder over my cooking pot and see what I can make of it. Thanks Deku!

I guess there's not much we can do to help at this point, but here's some scrumptious spaghetti to cheer you on (and to keep that noodle working)!

Hi Zeila, thanks for the feedback. :)

Quote from: Zeila on June 03, 2016, 06:10:44 PM- For the time signature change, you could put l'istesso tempo

Oh I see, that's a new term for me. Would this be a suitable situation to add this expressive text? I read a definition of it online, and it was a bit confusing. The way I interpreted it was that the beat is kept at the same tempo, rather than the individual notes? If that is the case, then if the time signature changes from compound to simple time, won't it mean that the eighth notes will be played slower (because there are now 2 of them per beat instead of 3)? Ah, I hope that made sense. I added the text anyway, but if you could explain in your own words what it means and what it's used for, I would be very grateful.

Quote- I personally think this fits 6/8 more, but that's your choice
I see what you mean, that third beat in each bar is rather strong, isn't it? I leaned more towards 12/8 because it creates longer phrases, the tempo is rather fast and in this way, the bars follow a question-answer pattern. But I'll see how it looks in 6/8 tomorrow - Finale reacts badly to a time signature change when all notes are already in place, hence why I'm leaving the task until later. :P

Quote- In m4, that's an odd place to put a decrescendo imo. It looks like you intended it (and makes more sense for it) to be for the last half of the measure
Makes sense! I shortened that decres. down.

Quote- m7-8, the low note changes (C for m7, D for 1st half of m8, A for 2nd half)
You're right! I worked on this arrangement a couple of years ago and worked from a MIDI file, ugh, can't believe I missed that.

Quote- I think you should put pedal markings from m21-28
Good point, can't really play that left hand without using the pedal.

Quote- If you're going to have different dynamics in m29, you should put the RH (mf) on top of the staff
Gotcha!

I'm so glad there are talented people here who can pick up on all the necessary details. :)

I've completed a few more arrangements during these past 2-3 weeks, you can find them all listed above with a *new* tag. Here's the one that I just finished this evening. I ripped the MIDI file from the original game so the notes should all be correct, but the left hand sounds a bit messy. Any suggestions on how I could improve it are most welcome. ;)

I printed out your "Warmth is Gone" sheet. :) Will take it out whenever there's a rainy day or after I've read/watched a sad ending - it's just so soothing...

Just a few small points. :)

• Is there a particular reason why there's no key signature? There are a lot of F#s appearing throughout the sheet.
• The tremolo in m. 8 is so tiny, I thought it was a piece of dust on my computer screen. ^^ It wouldn't hurt to widen the tremolo sign in m. 26 as well, I think.
• There's a low voice appearing from m. 63 onwards - it might make the sheet challenging to play, but it possibly be added. Up to you, I see there are a lot of voices included already.

Quote from: Zeila on June 02, 2016, 07:14:14 PMThis song was on my Music Appreciation final and I thought it was pretty strange

I wasn't sure if I was allowed to laugh or not until I heard the audience giggling away. :D It reminds me of the silly sounds we have to sing when warming-up our voices.

My goodness, the stuff that fans take the time to make is just astonishing. All the Undertale fan-made videos I've watched so far made me laugh or stare in awe. ^^

Woo, lots of great new arrangements, way to go on finishing them so quickly. :) They all sound good to me, and don't require too much formatting and changing. That last one you uploaded should be fairly easy to simplify, just keep the topmost notes in the right hand (with some occasional harmonies, like those from m. 15 until the next double barline) and it will become much much easier to play.

Just a quick tip: With a rhythm composed of two dotted eighths followed by an eighth, the third beat needs to be shown so some beaming will be necessary. This way, it becomes easier for the performer to read the music.

(Before & After)

Also, if two eighth notes are automatically beamed together, then there is no need for a tie and you can replace the two tied eighths with a quarter note (I have taken the example from "Concrete Jungle").

Best of luck with fixing up your older arrangements! I, too, need to get that done at some stage (maybe next month... maybe).
