Now yes, I realize this is a two pianos arrangement, but it can also be played solo if you adhere to the following outline. If playing solo, play from the first piano measures 1-3, from the second measure 4, from the first measures 5-12, and from the second piano measure 13-28. Don't be scared off by all the switching I just mentioned, it's really quite simple.

Waltz-like yes, because the time signature is 3/4, but "ancient" as you say because the whole song is in pentatonic scale, a scale that is the basis of Chinese and Mongolian music.
