finally started this and i am in LOVE

i don't know anything about the game, nothing story wise, how long it is, characters in it, anything!! and i promised myself i wouldn't look up any walkthroughs either and force myself to explore and figure it all out myself

i just have one question (and i recognize i'm risking spoilers by asking this but pls be nice). to me, as far as i am in in the game, guardians are those scary robot things that are either stuck in the ground or shaped like a spider. and they shoot lazers 😥 my q is, is there any way to kill them, at the point i am at now? (haven't left the plateau). i know i can stun them and whatever but they really scare tf out of me and so far i've just been running and avoiding them

this seems so fun wtf. i'm late to this party lmao

...but probably for a good reason. I sat and listened through all of these new ones and only recognized ONE (with like two others being a little familiar but idk man). I'm not even gonna submit I'm too embarrassed

bad statements about women being made in my presence and feel the need to correct them.
I gave up on this a while ago lol. responding to a lot of things actually, there's some things that only get through your head when you experience them firsthand (or sometimes never I guess)

Do friendship relationships count on this thread?
yes!!!!! my fave

If you're referring to college courses, core curriculums don't exist to make you a better computer programmer but a better person in general. more rounded and not closed in to your one specific field of study. Having a broader sense of the world, relating to others, etc. You can't stand to sit through your history class, but there's countless people going for degrees or having jobs they love in that field. why?? how??

Plus from my experience my core classes have been 110% easier than my actual major courses. They're designed with the idea that people are required to take them and that they might not be interested in them, but there's still a reason it's mandatory to take them. so no complaining shush

idk man learning is just cool. it's boring and stressful at times but i've gotten a bunch out of every class so far and i can't imagine not going to a school with a mandatory core

I feel like this has already been thoroughly explained to you in another thread some time ago
ninja'd oops this is what i get for ditching nsm for a few months

High school is weird in general. They teach odd things you dont need for anything but dont teach  you how to be successful in the world.
okay people are always saying this lol but I can't tell you the number of times just in my first year at college I thought "damn I remember learning part of this in highschool, I wish I paid more attention/we went more in depth bc it would make this semester a lot easier". and my college courses are for my degree = my future career = my future life success so yeah highschool is kinda important imo

so i'm freaking out, finals edition. I've got a C average in my chem class rn so the final (which is on Friday) is soo important. I have to get at least a B  (maybe slide by with a B-) or I won't be able to apply for my major next semester, and would most likely lose my 20k scholarship I'm basically living off of. heavy shit!!

I also just got back my chem lab final grades (which is basically the same thing but had a written part and a practical) and I got 100!! on the practical!! an 100 on a lab final exam??? holy shit. but then the actual written portion, the one similar to the all-important test I'm taking on Friday, I got a 67 on. huh.

And considering I studied super hard for every chem test this semester to end with a C and for the lab final I put in well over 15 hours only to get back that very confusing mix of grades I have a very mixed and amplified series of emotions going on rn hhhhh

not to mention i think its more well established by now that sexuality is a spectrum
maybe within the community or anyone who cares to educate themselves, but for the majority of people its still mostly "gay or straight....maybe bi? or confused"

or asexuality!!! never said i wanted to do anything besides get close to him!! it could have been literally anything other than straight i'm p sure

tho i'm personally against labels like that, since from my experience most of the time they lead to either stigmas or confusion.

That little icon isn't really the best indicator on this forum. I'm 99% sure Bubbles' is a joke.
it absolutely was a joke, literally from like 5 years ago or so so i don't even remember what it was about!!! but apparently it was v funny at the time so why change it now yknow

also i never stop thinking its the tiniest bit funny when i find out someone thought i was a guy their entire nsm experience. i don't think i could get any farther from the stereotype of a guy lmaoo

let it be known
also true

this isn't really a romantic relationship (after a few emotionally fucky events over my first and second semester i've promised myself to not mess w anyone at all unless i'm sure they genuinely like me for more than like a weekend lmao) but a friend-relationship that really makes me happy :-)

i have this cute lil study group for my bio classes and its all guys except for me. i really really vibe with guy energy (as opposed to girl, which my entire dorm floor is filled with and its honestly exhausting and inescapable) so having this group that texts all the time and has 5+ hour study sessions in a private library room is one of the best things that's happened to me in a while :-) just wanted to share.

studying is boring as hell and brutal especially for science courses but i'm enjoying every second of it and i'm probably going to be devastated once the semester is over and we all have no reason to talk anymore
