Music / Super Smash Bros. Melee Re-sheeted
February 10, 2012, 03:37:15 PM
I have recently found the most amazingly accurate piano duet videos for Super Smash Bros. Melee on youtube. If we have Super Smash Bros. as the next Fixing the Sheets project, some people could transcribe all of the duets, and then simplify them for piano OR have a version of each. Anyway, by now you'll want to see why I think these videos are so good. There's three parts the third being split into two videos, each taking from approx 10-15 mins long.

PART 1
PART 2
PART 3 1/2
PART 3 2/2

Hopefully, one day, all of these will get done:

1. 25th Anniversary Medley
2. Kakariko Village
3. Gerudo Valley
4. Fairy Fountain Theme
5. Windwaker symphonic movement
6. Twilight Princess symphonic movement
7. Main Theme

These are not in order, and personally I would like the Twilight Princess Symphonic movement to be done first please?

Feedback / Logos for NSM
January 14, 2012, 01:52:48 AM
Here I am again, just sprouting my useless ideas about how we could improve NSM.

What if we put the Logos of the game/series next to their corresponding name? e.g. The Legend of Zelda with the Legend of Zelda logo next to it.

It's pretty useless but it would liven up the site!  :)

Feedback / NSM on iDevices!
October 19, 2011, 02:54:57 AM
Not like this is ever going to happen, ever... but anyways.

It would be cool to have an app for NinSheetMusic. I think. But hear me out. Millions of people go on the Apple app store every day, and some people would have to find the NSM app. And here's what it'd do:

* Instantly have access to two thousand sheets of Nintendo/other sheet music PDFs (and possibly other files) all in the palm of your hand.
* Use airprint to print any of these PDFs straight from your iDevices.
* Give access to the forums- redesigned for the iDevice - with a simple system that notifies you when you've been PMd or someone has replied to your posts.

And we could possibly ask for a small price for it, or have it for free, or have both - with the priced one having the full amount of sheets and forum access.
And if that happened 5-10% of the royalties, and the rest goes into NSM - a bit of buck for the arrangers, editors, moniters, and the Administrator of course.

But this will never happen.

P.S. I only used Apple as an example because it is the most used in the smartphone/tablet market.

Just to let you all know that I've changed usernames - I used my other one because I couldn't think of anything else. And I know what your thinking, "Meta-Ridley's not such an inventive name either" but I really wanted to start my profile name with an "m", I love metroid and Meta-Ridley is my favourite boss battle ever.

Feedback / NSM on Youtube!
October 05, 2011, 11:15:06 PM
I think it would be a good idea to do video tutorials for the harder pieces on NSM and put them on youtube. Firstly, we'd give some people a hand with the sheets that make them go "how the HECK am I going to learn this!". Secondly, not many people know about NSM - it would be a great advertising, they see the video tutorial, then they see the link to the biggest archive of gaming music on the web, they see the forums, and then we might have a couple new members! And new members means new ideas, new thoughts brought to the table - which is always helpful. And even a couple Synthesia videos would be good as well.

Most people, including Apple, is saying that there's lots of new hardware going around. But if you step back and take a look, the only external modifications to any Apple product in the keynote is the 8 megapixel camera and the antenna. I don't really know how they can call these ipods "new" - The iPod touch simply has a white colour option now, and the Nano has one icon to swipe back and fourth in stead of four. And the Clocks.

And the iPhone 4S - probably the biggest letdown. Not for some, but for most. You would think, that being four months later than usual, they were making something extra special, extra new and extra mindblowing - exactly what we expect of Apple. So many people had high hopes for the iPhone 5. But then the 4S came along, with the dissapointed applause following. I do like the iPhone 4S, I really do - except it's probably about a year late in Apple time. It's everything the Iphone 4 could have been - but wasn't for marketing and cost purposes, and they're trying to drag it out as long as possible, because as most intellegent people see, Apple clearly ran out of ideas, time, and a lot of other things.

The ipods, for starters, are almost identical to their predecessors. The main reason I think they weren't updated was because they didn't know how to improve the products. Except for the Touch - A better camera and maybe a little 3g would be SOOO nice. But I'll have to wait.

The iPhone 4S - Reports claim that Apple did try to make an Iphone 5. And failed. So when it came to launching time, they didn't have anything to give to the public and used four months to make a carbon copy of iPhone 4 with a better camera, and stuffed all the IOS 5 they could into it, and other stuff they planned for the iPhone 5, like Siri, as well.

If Apple just made the screen a bit bigger, and the model a bit thinner, they probably could have pulled off calling it the iPhone 5- and I think the public would have a better reaction to it than the 4S.

Feedback / NSM is Cool!!!!
September 28, 2011, 02:52:26 AM
I mean it. This is an ultra-amazing site. If you step back from the thick of things in the site and have a look at it....

It's so good. I don't know another sheet music site that holds an archive of 2000 sheets for piano (not including in the forums). And even a quarter of the arrangements are not up to scratch (I don't know the actual amount), that means we have 1500 amazing piano sheets!!!

And that couldn't be possible with the ultra-amazing staff behind it. All the Administrators and Moderators and just the dedicated and enthusiastic forum members keep this site in wonderful shape, from fixing sheet music in the site to making sure the new stuff meets the standard. And then of course we have our spirited arrangers, the workers that make up the reason for this entire site - to make Nintendo sheet music and share it with the world. Sorry I can't mention anyone, I haven't been here nearly long enough to know the driving forces of the site. Besides The Deku Trombonist. He's definately on that list.

This site is like a little country - You have you Administrators and Moderators and other forum members, your politicians, that organise the whole thing, and then you've got your working class citizens, the arrangers, that give the other guys something to organise, all to give a result wanted by all. And the most important thing here is that your not driven by materialistic things like money, but rather through self - motivation and persistance, and the mindset to keep learning. And most of us are just teenagers! We truly are the generation of the future.

Feedback / NSM Fanfare
September 27, 2011, 11:56:12 PM
I don't know if this is the right sub-forum to put this in, but oh well...

WOULDN'T IT BE COOL IF NSM HAD A FANFARE AS YOU ENTERED THE SITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!??

That's just my view. Maybe something around 10 seconds long, not so long as it goes till after has a decent look around and finds a sheet they wanna download.

Help! / NSM Profile Help
September 26, 2011, 09:47:39 PM
Hi guys, REALLY want to change my username, but I don't really know how.

Also, whats the best way to make a really cool signature?

Hi guys,

Today I had a sudden urge to play "Fountain of Dreams", from Super Smash Bros. Mellee. I downloaded the PDF, started to learn, and the further I went into the piece, the more places i found impractical arrangements of chords and notes in one hand that are hardly possible to play at tempo (unless you've got giant hands).

I had a look at some of the other arrangements on the site, and realised that though they may be accurate portrayals of the pieces, note by note, but they are not up to the standard to that of a professional piano sheet music site, the standard that it should be at.

This is because Ninsheetmusic is full of transcriptions. And I say transcriptions because a transcription is a note by note portrayal of a piece, as I said above. But what use are transcriptions if they're not playable, which is the point of this entire site?! Ninsheetmusic, should be full of arrangements, which are transcriptions that have been arranged in a way that it is possible to play it on one or more instruments. In Ninsheetmusic's case, the instrument is, of course, piano. Just in case you didn't know.

So I suggest that a group of enthusiastic forum members (myself included) systematically check all 2000 sheets, to ensure that they are actually possible to play. We may have 2000 pieces on the site, but as the old saying goes, quality over quantity. I would also like that when pieces are being submitted for the site, they are checked that they are possible to play. I know this probably won't happen immediatley, but instead of having 2000 sheets of crappy mediocrity, we can be a reliable, trustworthy site that has a professional outlook on the way sheetmusic is made.

It's time we start doing some more Banjo-Kazooie arrangments - and finish arranging all much loved BK themes and songs!
Now as I think most of the music in N&B is not nearly up to scratch compared to BK and BT Banjo Land is an amazingly nostalgic arrangment that deserves
to be arranged. It would be lovley if someone could do this please. I would love for all the other BK songs to be arranged as well - the pile of unnaranged tunes is extensive
(check community project).

Thank you all

Off-Topic / How Ninsheetmusic started.
October 07, 2010, 06:33:29 PM
Does anyone know how Ninsheetmusic started? I think it would be good to know how the
biggest video game sheetmusic archive became what it is - with now over 1500 sheets.

Nintendo / Super Smash Bros. 4
July 06, 2010, 04:01:14 AM
Possible names Super Smash Bros. Rumble or Super Smash Bros. Fight?

Anyway, This topic is for people to speculate on what might be in a new Super Smash Bros game (If there's going to be one)
Please, bring forth your ideas. Here are a couple of my own.

1.Completeley make stage builder better. I don't care how you do it, just make it alot better.
2.For pokemon trainer, You can customise which starter pokemon from Kanto, Jhoto etc. and which evolution you'd like (only 3 pokemon
can be used when playing)
3.BRING IN MORE CHARACTERS AND STAGES. some examples would be Dark Samus or Ridley, Dixiekong, Krystal etc.
4.Bring back mewtwo. He's way better than lucario (You can only imagine what his final smash would be).
5.Make stages in the Campaign mode (e.g. from brawl Subspace Emissary) playable for online and versus fights.

Music / Pokemon Anime and Movies
April 23, 2010, 06:35:42 PM
I know that this is a Nintendo gaming sheet music site, but some of the Pokemon Anime
music completeley outstrips the games' music and there's also heaps of awesome music that
isn't in the games. The music from the movies are pretty good aswell.

So this topic is for people who want to submit any sheet music of the Pokemon Anime and Movies
soundtrack that is preferably between seasons 1-5 (Kanto, Orange Islands and Jhoto). I'll be adding
some sheet music aswell.

So go on. Go and create some sheet music of the wonderfully orchestrated soundtrack of the Anime.

Here are some of the arrangments:
