So, one day I was just planned bored and wanted to make something. So I made a piano soundfont. You can say that there's plenty out there already, but the thing is, most of the free ones out there just aren't that good, either the sample quality, or how many samples there are for the entire piano. You couldn't say anything better for this soundfont, but at least it's my first attempt at making one. I recorded the Weinbach Upright I have in my bedroom with amateur equipment as well (considering I don't have any microphones at all) I just recorded it through a laptop in the Audacity program. It took around 2 hours to record all the keys. The final product won't actually have all the keys...as I found that I set the input volume a bit high so some keys just produce earrapish sounds. But still it has over 70 good samples and they're in WAV, 32 bit standard float, 1411 kbps at a sample rate of 44100 kHz, which is quite decent. In the audio editing process, I actually made the samples into two different sets, one made to sound more like a concert hall and another like...a bedroom/studio/small room. I'm at the final stages in assembling the samples together but so far I have to say it sounds pretty nice. Much nicer than Microsoft GS Synth (obviously) and many other GM soundfont out there (as the number of samples for the piano instrument tend to be quite low). You can hear some demos below:

So, I found this great piano soundfont, Keppy's Steinway Piano. This piano really makes piano MIDIs come to life with HQ WAV samples from a Steinway D-274 Concert Grand. Plus, it has dynamic filtering (spectral morphing) to make dynamics in piano arrangements come out and multiple presets, so you can make it sound melodramatic (sad), deep, bright, etc.

To use the SF, make sure the MIDI is set to the instrument 000 (Grand Piano, not bright or anything like that). Then I find the best method to convert MIDI to HQ WAV to use KMC. Get KMC here: https://github.com/KaleidonKep99/Keppys-MIDI-Converter/releases

Install it, import the MIDIs, import the SFZ preset that you want to use, and render. Hope this helped you guys! :)

Music / Favorite Piano Soundfont

Go list your favorite Soundfonts of piano here!

Currently, my fav is Keppy Steinway Piano 3.06 Reverb. It sounds so great and realistic to .me, the reverb makes the sound fuller. You can get that at keppystudios.com

My fav used to be the Yamaha Disklavier Pro on the zenvoid website though.

Music / [Wii] Newer Super Mario Bros. Wii

NEWER SUPER MARIO BROS WII ON PIANO PROJECT!!!

Basic Information
In case you don't know, Newer Super Mario Bros. Wii is an unofficial mod for New Super Mario Bros. Wii which is completely legal to play developed over the course of 3 years by devoted Nintendo fans, so I thought I would start a project to convert the game's soundtrack to piano sheet music. LifeMushroom and kinoko actually started the project a while ago here, but the formatting needs to be fixed and add metronome markings...

Here are the songs that will be arranged:
You can download the song pack here.

In WIP Mode!!!

Death Waltz (All Heaven/Hell Freezes Over) version is by Superenguanapianist. I just took the 13 pianos version and arranged it for 2 hands. Although I'll say you need to a SUPER professional pianist to play this, or maybe it is just plain impossible.
