Personally, my favorite are PMD:EoS, Pokemon Diamond, or really most any pokemon game before fairy types were made.
It's a close call between Ruby/Sapphire and Gold/Silver. Both incredibly nostalgic, both great games in their own right. Also, what do you have against Fairy-types? It's the nerf to Dragon that we severely needed.
