Title: The Official "What to do with my sheets if I disappear" Topic
Post by: Latios212 on October 20, 2016, 12:12:43 PM
http://forum.ninsheetmusic.org/index.php?topic=6444 (http://forum.ninsheetmusic.org/index.php?topic=6444)

To prematurely avoid dealing with this issue in the future:

If you would like your sheets to be submitted (editing may be involved) in the case of accidental death disappearance, please make one post below containing:
- Time of inactivity (since last post) past which you would like your sheets to be edited/submitted by someone else
- To whom you give permission to edit/submit your sheets
- Any other specifics about how you want your sheets to be handled

Or post that you don't want your sheets to be submitted at all.

Examples:
Spoiler
"If I'm inactive for more than 6 months, I give permission for anyone to submit my sheets."

"I do not give anyone permission to submit my sheets"

"If you don't see me around for 3 months, <Person A>, <Person B>, and the updaters can make necessary changes and submit for me."
[close]

I'll start: As for me, if I'm inactive for a month the updaters can do as they please with any of my sheets.

Thank you.

If I am inactive for 2 months, my sheets may be submitted and edited by the updaters, beginning with my most recent and hopefully never reaching my earliest sheets.

If I remain inactive for one year, I give editing and submission permissions to King Sammer, and only King Sammer.

Just kidding. One year and anyone can do anything to my sheets.

If I disappear from the internet and you don't hear from me for over 6 months, I give any updaters + dajwxp to edit and submit my arrangements with both my name and theirs in the credits.

If I've been gone for over a year, anyone can build on top of my arrangement and submit it under their name.

If I'm inactive for a month, anyone can do anything with my .mus files! ^^ If, y'know, they exist on the site and aren't being submitted for some reason.

If I'm inactive for 2 months (and note that I almost always show up to submit new sheets basically as soon as an update goes up that includes any sheets by me, so it would have had to have been 2 months since last post and also I haven't shown up to submit new sheets after an update in that time) without making a note that I'll be gone in advance, I give permission to edit and submit my sheets to whoever cares enough to do so. I especially trust Latios, Olimar, JDMEK, and Th3Gavst3r tho. Do whatever you need to do to make them playable.
Would preferably like the Hamtaro sheets to go up before anything else in my thread, preferably in the order Rainbow Rescue -> Ham-Hams Unite -> any others.

If I go off the grid for more than 5 months and 4 days, I give my permission to the following to both submit and edit as they deem necessary and proper:
-Sebastian
-Dudeman
-The Updaters
-F. L. U. D. D. (If he ever becomes reasonably active)
-BrainyLucario (if he ever returns)
-Zeila
As far as specifics go, those who do edit/submit my sheets may (if they so desire) put "Continued by (their name)" under the arranger name on the sheet.

If there's ever a backlog on my thread and I'm gone, anyone can go ahead and submit them. I'm hopeful that one day I'll make more than a couple of arrangements a semester, so if I actually accumulated some sheets, that'd be pretty incredible. I have a bad habit of disappearing though, so maybe give me three months.

Oh neat! It would be nice to have a bit of assurance in case real life (or death?  :o) takes us away from NSM.

If I'll ever be absent for a year and haven't posted anything in my personal arrangements thread to explain my absence, feel free to flick me an e-mail to ask if I'm still working on arrangements. If I don't reply, you're welcome to edit/submit the sheets if you'd like to. :)

Never saw this topic huh.

If I ever disappear, the updaters can do whatever they want with my sheets under two conditions:
-It has the NSM url on it (I only put it on sheet I intend to submit)
-It requires no/minimal edits

People know what I have written about "if I leave NSM (for a longer time period)".

"If I ever happen to leave the site for longer than 1 month, you have my permission to submit any of my arrangements, even if major changes are needed. My goal is to have all my arrangements on the main site sooner or later, so I'd appreciate if any of my arrangements is being submitted."

I'd rather have as little changes as possible... however. And I'd leave more experienced musicians to have the most power to change, or suggest changes to, my arrangements if that happens, and I'd (hopefully) leave a comment about whom I'd want to be able to change or suggest changes to my sheets if I leave.

Just saw this, so I figured I'd post here so people know...

If I ever leave or disappear, anyone here has full permission to do anything they want with any of my sheets, be it submitting, fixing, formatting, whatever. I don't really care about what you do with them. Any changes that are made are perfectly acceptable and greatly appreciated.

Ditto. I have a tendency to be super inactive for long periods of time, though, so if I come back, please let me know if anything happens! <3

Let's make this as unnecessarily detailed as possible.

In the instance that I -
1)   officially announce my temporary or permanent full departure from NinSheetMusic in the Official "I'm Away Topic," or
2)   do not post or sign in (seen in "last active") in two months,
anyone may edit and submit my arrangements, provided that -
1)   anyone interested in submitting regardless of completion must PM me in case of any objections,
2)   if the arrangement is already complete, to submit it in my name, and
3)   if the arrangement is not complete, to submit it as a collaboration between myself and any person(s) who edited the arrangement.

I do not arrange my music to be playable. That said anyone may edit my sheets at any time and submit them as long as I get credit for the arrangement.

Speaking of which can someone edit my Romance in the Air Solo arrangement and submit it for me. (I made the arrangement about a year ago and its been sitting in my personal arrangement thread that whole time.)

To be clear, this thread is for the benefit of the updaters and arrangers who wish to see someone's works submitted, not for requesting work on your own arrangement.

In no way is anyone obligated to fix up or submit anyone else's sheets; this thread is just giving us the power to do so if we feel so motivated to.

This is giving blanket permission to anyone to edit and upload my arrangements. I am in no way insinuating that anyone HAS to do so. I am stating that they can if they like whether I am active or not.

This is giving blanket permission for anyone to modify an arrangement i have previously created. I was unclear with the way i said it but allow me to restate what i meant. Whether or not I disappear, I give full permission to anyone to edit and submit my arrangements as long as i am credited as the arranger. I am proud of my arrangement of Romance in the Air and if someone would like to edit and submit it i would appreciate it. That said, no one should feel obliged to do so.

Moreover the main purpose of my post was not to draw attention to my previous arrangement. It was to give permission for anyone at anytime to submit my sheets.

^This. If you're active, you can submit arrangements yourself. This is just for if you disappear off of the face of the earth.
Title: Re: The Official "What to do with my sheets if I disappear" Topic
Post by: Trainer Ave on February 28, 2017, 10:07:55 AM
i cant submit it myself because i once again no longer have access to finale and am currently arranging music on my phone. If i had a PC, id submit the arrangement but i dont. Also nearly all of my arrangements from this point forward will be placed on my arrangement thread in the form of screenshots and midis. This is why I give permission to everyone at anytime.

Again, that's not the point of this topic. If you would still like to submit stuff, you might want to befriend someone with finale who wouldn't mind helping you out.

Oh hey.

Since I've disappeared, I grant immediate and total rights to anyone interested in my sheets (http://forum.ninsheetmusic.org/index.php?topic=420.0).

This means that I'm done arranging, for now (and probably forever). I would like my sheets submitted to the site, but I lack the technical and musical skills required for them to be up to par. At this moment, all of my sheets are up for grabs.

02 is really close to done, I feel. SMM Title Screens are also pretty close. Everything else is pretty meh, if I remember correctly. I don't know if the links still work. If not, I'll resubmit them on my thread.

This is such a sad topic....

Anyway, if I am ever gone for three months (haven't posted in the forum or on discord) then you have permission to submit any of my arrangements (NOT Fire Emblem or Drakengard/NieR).

If I am ever gone for six months (haven't posted in the forum or on discord) then you have permission to submit any of my arrangements (apart from the first Drakengard game).

If I am ever gone for 3 years (haven't posted in the forum or on discord) then you have permission to submit any of my arrangements.

(I might edit this again at some point but for now eh.)

In the past I said that if I ever just stopped submitting to submy sheets for me. I have changed my stance on this: 1) if I disappear I don't want any of my sheets admitted and 2) odds are I will be submitting a lot less frequently, eventually ceasing to submit entirely, in the coming months, which is why this is relevant at all.
