Started Fi's Theme! I know that Bloop arranged Fi's Gratitude which is probably better than what I'll end up with but this one is in tune to the other variants of the song and it's a really nice song.

Did an entire arrangement of Opening (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iryO0ksUeSc) from Twilight Princess. It was shorter than I thought and I was able to get most of it done withing an hour. There are some two-note tremolo parts (marimba / xylophone on the original) which I notated in the fourth layer and will need someone with a better Finale product to provide the proper notation.

Started Herd Game! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wqhKc01xyBs) This was another short one and I got it done quickly. Again two note tremolos pop up (m14), and I make extensive use of staccato. As shown in the OP, the notes are down in the intro but some left hand action will be nice too. There is also some LH in m11-13, 15-17 which I found hard to hear.

It's another rehash of the main Zelda theme but it's in a different key, is slower, and has a nice building effect throughout the entire song. This arrangement also comes with a fresh batch of Lkj's Inexplicable Formatting Issues (feat. Finale Notepad) that comes standard with every Lkjhgfdsa_77 arrangement.

Started Legend of Skyloft (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gKcTSN7Sr9s) from Skyward Sword. The piece is divided into two sections - the main war section and the calm outro (2:27). I decided that because of NotePad I would start by splitting up the two sections for now, the main part has some distinct 4/4 sections (0:35), but the outro is in 3/4. I arranged the latter segment of the piece. The main part is giving me some trouble and I would appreciate some feedback when it is done.

30 Nov 2016 - Fixed up Opening from Twilight Princess, added the tremolo parts which I previously notated in the fourth layer. Added pedal markings, dynamic, and a direction to play the tremolo pianissimo, it seemed very loud on playback and is much softer in the original.

(1 Dec 2016 - For some reason at least the .PDF shouldn't be updated, busy right now but I will try to get it fixed as soon as I can.)
(2 Dec 2016 - All file formats of Opening have been fully updated with the tremolo notation.)

Started and powered halfway through the first part of Legend of Skyloft. The intro 7 measure of tremolo probably needs a look-over, it gets across the general idea and dynamics but the notes them selves could use work. Up until 0:32 (m16) I couldn't identify a solid meter, so I stuck with the 4/4 present in the rest of the piece and used pauses to compensate. After around 0:34 (m18) the left hand repeats itself until 1:06 (m40), and the rhythm repeats until 1:33 (around m59, just over 40 measures!). However, the right hand has non-repeating melody in the entire section. The glissando in m40-41 bothers me because it doesn't seem like it would be playable. Again there is some crashing, notably with the crescendo hairpins, and the 8va in m16-17 seems dangerously close to the dynamics directly under.

Worked on Legend of Skyloft. Now I have a draft of the entire piece, but I will need to work on some things, like -
 - the part at m79 and m87, which has the basic rhythm but I don't know exactly what notes to use.
 - formatting. Notation clashes everywhere and there are spots where the left hand goes sufficiently high and low to warrant a new clef and 8vb. I wrote these in as text as a guideline for fixing.
 - "stitching together" the two parts.
 - a key signature (all natural works fine but I can't find one that works for the entire piece).
 - the F5 in m25-26 sounds too long.
 - the glissando in 51-52 sounds off.

First Day of Hanukkah

Started Space maze (https://youtu.be/1RA5_wIHRL4) from Snakebird. Snakebird is a puzzle game released for iOS, Android, and Steam, and I was able to pick a copy up through a Humble Bundle along with .mp3s of the entire soundtrack. This is one of the slower songs in the soundtrack (compare to "All the fruit in the world"). While having the melody and harmonics, right now the arrangement feels a bit lacking, consisting of a single note played with the left hand and one or rarely two notes on the right. I created a special file for the .mid ("Enhanced Midi") which has the glissando marks throughout the entire piece as well as the repeated section copied over for playback reasons (NotePad's native repeat signs don't work).

Hanukkah starts at sundowns. So in technicality, each day of Hanukkah covers the timespan of two days; the first day of Hanukkah 2016 started at sunset 24 Dec 2016 and continues/d until sunset 25 Dec 2016. In my time zone I'm actually late because of Christmas obligations, but for anyone living in the West Coast (US) it's not.

I want them to be in the arrangement but only subtly; I put in a text marking for this purpose but it won't play back this way. Third Day of Hanukkah

Arranged Menu (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SAtymAvHDo0) from Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas. Oceanhorn is a Wind Waker-inspired adventure game on iOS, Android, PS4, XBox One, and Steam for PC and Mac. In this song there is little to no percussion, which let me focus on the other parts. However, with the way that I arranged it the hands seem very close together, and at times the left hand crosses over the right hand. I like to try to preserve the octave that a part is written in an effort to keep the same register from the original, but both the high bass pattern and the melody are very close to middle C and they clash, separated by the different types of sounds in the original. Otherwise, the arrangement might need some final formatting but overall I think that the notes are accurate.

Fourth Day of Hanukkah
Arranged Ink or Sink (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Mi1E03hJEs) from Splatoon. Splatoon music in general doesn't transcribe well onto piano because of the heavy use of drums and percussion, and Ink or Sink is no different. In the first part (until m20, around 0:23) I completely ignored it and looked at the guitar and melodic pattern, save the piano slap direction in RH m4. In the second part (m21-36, 0:23-0:42) I was able to include most of the parts, albeit in a very messy way, and I think that I did a good job using the piano's registers. However, in m29 I pushed the "D#-B-D#" eighth note pattern to the right hand, which in my opinion overpowered the new lower pattern in the left hand. In m36-50 (0:42-0:59) the rap-like part really confused me but I was able to put in the basic guitar pattern with an attempt at the other pattern. Sadly, I am currently out of arrangements complete enough to post as a Hanukkah arrangement. If I end up deciding to arrange I might be able to go for a few more days, but I might have to discontinue the H8BIMGDaSaN2 Arrangements of Hanukkah.

Fifth Day of Hanukkah
Arranged Inside Forest Haven (https://youtu.be/AcMWbGRKsdw) from Wind Waker. I spent a lot of time finalizing the arrangement for the Official Wind Waker Arrangement Project so it's a bit more polished than my other Arrangements of Hanukkah. There are still a few things that will need fixing -
 - every time the left hand plays the repeating marimba pattern, change the clef to treble, and switch back to bass when it's put on the right hand (retain tonal value)
 - put 8va on m1-4 (retain tonal value)
 - m21 - change to 2/4 measure (keep first two beats) and if possible get playback to play the percussion

Sixth Day of Hanukkah

Started Shinshu Plains (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8yKG-Qu4WvM) from Ōkami [Okami]. Sadly I was not able to get an entire arrangement ready for the sixth day of Hanukkah, so to compensate I will include the "Xth Day of Hanukkah" header on the next three arrangement updates (including this one). Ōkami (for easy searching I will include a spelling of the title both with and without the macron over the O) is an action-adventure game developed by Clover Studio for the PS2, and was later ported to the Wii and PS3. I am currently playing through Ōkami and Shinshu Plains is one of the earlier locations visited. please don't spoil okami for me The music that plays in Shinshu Plains is over 6 minutes long and is actually split into two parts in the official soundtrack (hence the "I"). The first 24 measures feature a repeated 4-measure string pattern which I split between the left and right hand. When the flute come in at measure 9 (0:15), I kept the higher string pattern in the right hand with the flute. When a violin harmony is added in m12 (0:22), I notated it but I noticed that the notes are, for the most part, already played by other parts; this might be able to be solved by transposing the violin up an octave, however I find it not to be as true to the original as possible. Arranged Tower of Spirits (Dungeon) (https://youtu.be/40_9O8JuNRw) from Spirit Tracks. This is definitely one of the catchiest songs in the game and because of its repeated use in the game, it can easily be recognized by anyone that played Spirit Tracks. This arrangement was relatively straightforward, except for a couple things. There are multiple instruments that carry the melody, and by the way that I notated it I think it would be hard for one to differentiate them when looking at the arrangement. I'm also unsure of some of the harmony to some of the notes, not only in the beginning but also when they are added to the main melody later on. I also tried to be stricter on the note length, which is why there's a C5 held for 5 measures at the very end. I'm not sure if that's completely necessary, even though the sections at 0:07 - 0:14 and 1:38 - 1:46 are slightly different in the original.

For those who looked at my transcriptions thread, you would know that this was actually directly transcribed (http://forum.ninsheetmusic.org/index.php?topic=9016.msg365361#msg365361) from the music sequencer in the game, which means that besides anything that I misread, there should be no error in the actual notes. The arrangement process was generally straightforward. My biggest concern is the total omission of the spicatto violins starting at m73; because it has a perpetual eighth harmonic it can't easily be played with another part in that section. The left hand of Piano I (which takes the harp) spans a large area in terms of pitch and either clef changes, ottavas, or cross-staff beaming are wanted to cut down on ledger lines. I will likely also need to go through and map out parts where the hands would otherwise cross over.

Started Ganon's Tower for the Wind Waker arrangement project. With use of repeats I was able to get this down to 16 measures. I have a basic layout of the sheet, but it will need some work. The piano chords throughout the entire piece will need major overhauling, and the second half will need playability fixes that could easily be fixed by just bringing the low note up an octave. I want to have a better notation for the ornamentation of the vocals, I used grace notes whenever possible but I can't figure out what to use for the ornaments at the beginning of m10 and m14. An inverted mordent even with a flat can't cover a major third...

Started Opening from Skyward Sword (not to be confused with my previous arrangement of Opening from Twilight Princess). This is what could be best classified as a draft; this was considered as one of the 8 Arranegements of Hanukkah but was shelved for difficulty. This song heavily relies on instruments to give it flavor, and through a first listen it's hard to transcribe notes. I'll likely look through it again after Ganon's Tower to finish it and make finalizations.

I've been having trouble with arranging heavily orchestrated music and I ended looking through the Skyward Sword soundtrack for ones that seemed easy to arrange. As a result, the actual notes are going smoothly for this one. In addition, I deciced to move the marimba to the left hand for playability when the flute came in, and I'm contemplating whether to keep it in the bottom staff and use 8vas or keep it in the top staff and use LH marks. I'm leaning towards the right, but NotePad might not handle that well. I'm also using a bunch of articulations to differentiate the instruments, the instruments used have different characteristics and this carries well to piano.

Arranged Mini-Boss (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XF24XSYYiDw) for the Wind Waker Arrangement Project. Between the melody, strummed string harmonies, and bassline, there weren't many problems with the arranging. However, when the strummed strings drop out at 0:39 (m29), it seems a little bland and a replacement "filler" would be nice. In addition, the lower countermelody at 0:56 (m41) seems too low and it sounds odd when put at the same octave as the higher part. At the same spot, I wanted to distinguish the Cb Minor scale after the C Major rise four measures before, which lands on its diminished fifth / augmented fourth (F#/Gb) but there was already a Fn right before... I ended up using a double flat (as well as Cb) and if there's a better way to do it let me know. As always there are some minor formatting errors (as well as my slide notation... do people do that?) as well as a lack of a better way to let the performer know that the dotted eighth / sixteenth (dotted quaver / semiquaver) is meant to be played softer than the melody. Note that I didn't arrange the string hits in the repeat under the impression that they just happen when Link hits an enemy; if I should add them in let me know.

Used the latest version of NASF and updated files of Sealed Grounds, Legend of Skyloft, and Inside Forest Haven with better formatting, namely 8vas and clef changes. Because I'm a perfectionist I didn't put the lower 8vas in because I would prefer a 8vb mark; to me it's much more clear as to what to do. Sealed Grounds is also complete in notes terms.

I see that Lanayru Desert from Skyward Sword has an LDA of 90. Can I take it over for you? I kind of want to do it, but not if you want to keep doing it.

Arranged Issun's Theme (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Knu3mIwdNXQ) from Ōkami [Okami]. This one was fairly short and had the same left-hand pattern for the entire track, so it didn't take very long. However, I came across a small problem when adding the melody to the arrangement - the off-beats played by the right hand are too far away from the other parts to not have any insane jumping. I placed this section on the left hand with a bunch of clef changes for now. In addition, the first phrase of the melody is first played by an xylophone but is played with a plucked string in repeats. I notated the mezzo piano and tremolo to be played the first time only, as these articulations more closely replicate the sound of the xylophone. If I should write it again at the end with the different articulation and keep it completely faithful to the original, let me know.

Spent a bit of time getting Main Theme from Four Swords Adventures up to submission quality. I looked over all of the harmonies, added an 8va, added a part, and tried to figure out the middle trumpet voice to work. Will likely need a bit more work but it's fine now.

Because of it's short length and simplicity of notes, it was a very quick arrangement to make. The last measure is stretched out over an entire system, but other than that it's well formatted. Arranged Village of the Blue Maiden (https://youtu.be/vMGVCqSDSss) from Four Swords Adventures. Four Swords Adventures tends to reuse a lot of earlier Zelda music, especially from A Link to the Past, and this is no different - it's the standard Kakariko Village theme in a minor key. Before m16 there aren't too many voices and I'm able to fit everything in two hands. m16 adds two new voices, the low and high strings. Here I notate everything, and give performance suggestions for those who want to either forgo or play the high strings. This continues through m29. Starting in m30 there are three voices, the high and low string as sell as a barely-audible high xylophone. Everything can be easily played and the last four measures are just a transition to the first section. Because of the amount of notation that I put into the middle of the staff there's a lot of clashing, but it could all be fixed by adding some space in between the staves.

Gave some attention to Legend of Skyloft. I halved the note values in the first section, which better reflects the beat of the track. I also added in the captioning in the prologue as text along with measure numbers for future reference. There's still way too much space in between the staves but NotePad can't fix that.

Arranged Mirror of Twilight Completed (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=psDj50jvwoc) from Twilight Princess. Due to it's short length and simple notes, this was probably my quickest arrangement to make. All of the formatting that needed to be done (i.e. treble clef on both hands and an 8va on the right hand) was able to be done through NASF, and because it was in 4/4 I was able to use the copy of Lanayru Sand Sea which had four measures per system.

The first time the melody is played, only the bass and itself are played. However, on the repeat, two new parts are added - an offbeat and a countermelody. These are both in the treble clef and I couldn't find a way to give one to the left hand without sacrificing the bassline. When I arrange, I like to include every voice that I can find and then take out parts that are either unnecessary or impossible to play. I'll likely continue doing this until I find a better option.

Started Fire Sanctuary (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e2H8bv_e2wA) from Skyward Sword. The vast majority of the main voices in this piece are some form of percussion, so I used a bunch of articulations to show the different voices in the piece. The percussion luckily has a semi-discernible key (mostly "Bb"s),which eliminated my main problem when arranging this piece. This piece also shares a problem with Village of the Blue Maiden and Beach Theme - it has a section that plays once at the beginning and repeats again with one too many parts to be considered playable. Because the other "tonal" voices carry more "information" than the percussion, I will likely remove the percussion. As to why I am not writing in the string hits and supplementary percussion in the YouTube video - the .mp3 that I am using (https://downloads.khinsider.com/game-soundtracks/album/the-legend-of-zelda-skyward-sword-expanded/4-29-fire-sanctuary.mp3) starts off with what you hear on the arrangement and adds parts as the song repeats. (This also happens in the "Ancient Lanayru" (Lanayru Sand Sea) track.) If the updaters have any preference of which version to use, let me know.

I arranged this theme as well some time ago (if you wanna check it out, it's on my thread) and decided to forego the offbeat harmonies and include the countermelody only in the gaps of the main melody. Trying to include those harmonies makes it significantly more difficult and messy-looking (not to mention some dissonant intervals), and I think simplicity would work better for this song. Including the countermelody when it went over the main melody obscured the main melody a little bit which I had mixed feelings about. All that said, my arrangement is relatively old and I haven't thought about it in a while, and what you do with yours is ultimately up to you. Good start.

I thought I checked that no one arranged this one before... oh well. I added in the offbeats just for the sake of having them for reference. I will likely take them out for both the playability and harmonic reasons. However, the countermelody does seem important because it distinguishes the first and second repeats of the melody, and I will likely keep the countermelody's harmonics in m17-18 because they add more harmonic "flavor" and are relatively easy to play. Arranged A Wolf in Ordon (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mCZyCFKa-2E) (A Beast in the Village) from Twilight Princess. This one is a more ambient and dark version of the Ordon Village theme, and relies heavily on percussive instruments to keep the track going. To keep these instruments in, I approximated a pitch and wrote in an appropriate percussion instrument so a performer could either play the written not on the piano or use an actual percussion instrument. For some reason I only wrote in the maraca shakes in the odd measures as cross notes, which I may or may not change to match everything else. The rest of the track (strings) was fairly straightforward, but they seemed to go very low in the treble clef. Instead of writing out some repeats I went for a more compact notation, and a D.C. is used at the end.

Taking a leaf from Zeta's fabulous arrangement, I decided to arrange the three sound effects (https://www.dropbox.com/s/tezfv1im2hbi3bm/chrome.--dino-%20OST.zip?dl=0) found in chrome://dino/ (http://chrome://dino/), better known as the "Chrome no-Internet game." The hardest part of arranging this one was carefully finding the correct tempo of the repeated notes in the second and third effects. I used Audacity to measure their lengths and came up with 214 beats per minute. I would ideally have each of the sound effects on their own line (or separated by a double bar or ending double bar) like other effect compilations (http://www.ninsheetmusic.org/download/pdf/3453) and there be no extra rest space at the end (2/4 was the shortest time signature with an NSM template), but what I have now is fine. As for the name of the game, the address chrome://dino/ will always link to the no-Internet page regardless of actual connection status, and for lack of an official name I used that.

Even though the entire left hand ended up being almost unplayable due to its speed (sixteenth notes (semiquavers) in 98 bpm cut time), I still finished arranging the piece. In the first section (m1 - 4) I was able to fit all of the voices in, but in the first repeated section (m5 - 12) I didn't notate the low bass in favor of the more prominent arpeggio. The arpeggio is gone starting at m13, so I was able to include the bass. I wasn't able to hear a lot of the bass at m19, so I just put down what I could hear.

Now that summer is here and I have way too much time on my hands, I decided to make a self-arrangement project and arrange all of the tracks from a game, preferably one with a low number of songs. Because of the amount of parts that the track has, I decided to arrange this track for two pianos, and I think that it made a better arrangement in the end. I will probably compress it to solo piano in the future, but it will likely not be completely accurate to the original and be more creative with how it handles playing four staves in the space of two. As for the arrangement itself, there wre two main problems. The first was continuity and "sharing the melody;" I felt like passing any part of the recurring 8th note pattern in Piano 2 to any other hand would be awkward because there's no natural stopping point for it, and as a result Piano 1 gets the melody all of the time. The second is the crammed voices; all but a couple of the voices are in the treble/alto ranges, so there's a lot of cramming on the Piano 1 part (P2 can't take these because of issue 1). I also may have added too many slurs and directions and now I kind of feel like this (http://forum.ninsheetmusic.org/index.php?topic=7422.msg366808#msg366808).

Also seeing as there's only one active member that has a Radiant Historia arrangement on the site, it's pretty obvious who cast the only vote in the poll.

Speaking of which, after playing through more of the game I realized that a lot of the tracks had two-pianos potential. To ease playing and to not have one hand jumping around very fast, I used a combination of clef changes and cross-staving so the left hand could play both the low hits and (most of) the recurring eighth notes. I thought about using a 3+3+2 rhythm pattern, but I decided against it because not all parts followed it. This sheet was a good contender for my 4-measures-per-system template, but the clef changes fell apart when copying it over.

Arranged A Great Spirit Lies in Wait from Ōkami [Okami]. Despite being very percussion-oriented and not fitting well for piano at all, I decided to arrange it because I wanted to play around with the percussion that was featured in the track. I ended up adding six different kinds of percussion and extended techniques as well as an "arranger's note" saying that my approximations may not be completely accurate to the original. The first half of the track and the last measure is played without time, so I wrote in a general "Adagietto Rubato" tempo and approximated the timing. I also grouped these measures in a 6/4 or 3/2 pattern despite being in a 12/8 time signature, and I can't anyway, but I didn't know if I should have changed it. With all the text everywhere, the arrangement will also need an overhaul of the formatting.

The Radiant Historia project should return soon. I just felt like doing this.

Did some work on the old Shinshu Plains arrangement from Ōkami [Okami]. After actually playing more of the game and looking into it, I decided to make a single arrangement for both parts of the track, because they lead into one another in the game, and the individual tracks will be labeled. I also decided to add a second piano to allow for more notes to be played and to better grasp the orchestral qualities of the piece. This let piano 2 play the four-measure string repeat so piano 1 could give more to the melody. However, after m25, and to a lesser extent the entire arrangement, the arrangement sounds "empty" and not as full as the original, and I don't know how to fix it.

Arranged Impa's Fate / Farewell (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iRTz7UwPWko) from Skyward Sword. This has been in the works for a relatively long time now and it's now at a presentable quality. The way that the instruments are used sometimes makes it hard to pick out certain notes; because most of the instruments are strings (along with the way that they are used) it can be hard to discern certain voices. In addition, I did take some artistic liberties (such as the tremolos in pt 1 m16-17 and the harmonies and octaves in pt 2 m6-8) to preserve the "feel" of the track. Overall I think that I did a good job at not only transcribing the piece into notes, but actually arranging it to sound well on piano.

Also, the track Past at Peace (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WLcp8VC6g-M) is completely contained in Impa's Fate / Farewell, so by extension it is also arranged.

This piece is just another reprise of the Ordon Village theme, but it uses portato strings in the background. The only real problem was making sure that everything was playable. The bottom note in the left hand sometimes is too far away to play the entire left hand, but most the time the right hand is in range or takes one of the notes. The staccato eighth note pattern in the second section does seem a bit unwieldly, especially with the bass note at the beginning of each measure. I was able to format it nicely with my trial of PrintMusic, which is why there is also a .musx file included. Expect me to put up formatted versions of the rest of my sheets soon.

This first part is actually part of a longer track which also contains a version with more instruments, but I only arranged this part for now. For some reason I only cared about playability in the right hand, so the left hand has 13ths in multiple occasions, which isn't playable by any means. In these cases the top layer could probably be brought down. I was again able to format it nicely using PrintMusic. I'm not sure if I decided to hide too many rests; I tried to only hide them when it seemed obvious when the notes were.

Arranged To the Battlefield (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AA4WacCNscE) from Radiant Historia. Because of the amount of percussion in the track, I took a more creative direction in this arrangement. I made a power chord in the left hand and used the top note to mimic the snare drum pattern; it's likely not completely accurate but it gets the general sound across. The main melody was just violins with a single harmony, which wasn't really a problem.

Arranged Flashback (Ezlo's Past) (https://youtu.be/iFa5IHOLVk8) and Elemental Sanctuary (https://youtu.be/XGGQebHDWRk) from Minish Cap. These were both fairly short and easy to arrange. I originally arranged only Flashback, but I never checked that there was already an arrangement on site. In Elemental Sanctuary, I tried using a third staff to show the right hand pattern, the bass, and the middle voice, but I couldn't figure out how to extend the barlines to the third staff.

An arrangement of Faron Woods largely based off of the original. I tried to differ this arrangement from my others by making some original embellishments in the second half. These are mostly dynamic and tempo changes, but I did tweak some of the lines (such as the left hand in m70-73) to make them sound more dramatic. I also wrote a sort of bridge at the end as well as a definitive ending to the piece. The only thing that is missing is more detailed pedal markings; there are some in version 1.9 but because they were only in the beginning I just wrote in a simple "con pedale."

A transcription of Shigeo Sekito's ザ・ワードⅡ with a focus on accuracy. I'm not completely sure whether I chose the right instruments; I know that the electone (a type of electronic organ) was used in the album, but everything else was inferred. There currently is no drum part because I have no experience with writing for drums. Because organ music is very particular to how long notes last, the main version omits any grace notes and writes these out in time. I also made a version with grace notes in both melody lines for ease of reading.
